【摘要】:Shotpeeningisaprocessforcoldworkingsurfacesbybombardingtheproductwithshotofasolidandsphericalnaturepropelledatarelativelyhighvelocity.Ingeneral,shotpeeningwillincreasethefatiguelifeofaproductthatissubjecttobendingortorsionalstress.Itwillimproveresistancetostresscorrosioncracking.Itcanbeusedtoformpartsorcorrecttheirshapes.SeeAppendixX1foradditionalinformation.Itisessentialthattheshotpeeningprocessparametersbecontrolledrigidlytoensurerepeatabilityfromparttopartandlottolot.Thisspecificationcoverstechniquesandmethodsnecessaryforpropercontroloftheshotpeeningprocess.1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforautomated,controlledshotpeeningofmetallicarticlespriortoelectrolyticorautocatalyticdepositionofnickelorchromium,orasafinalfinish,usingshotmadeofcaststeel,conditionedcutwire,orceramicmedia.Theprocessisapplicabletothosematerialsonwhichtestworkhasshownittobebeneficialwithingivenintensityranges.Itisnotsuitableforbrittlematerials.Handpeeningandrotaryflappeeningareexcludedspecifically.1.2Shotpeeninginducesresidualcompressivestressesinthesurfaceandnear-surfacelayersofmetallicarticles,controllingorlimitingthereductioninfatiguepropertiesthatoccursfromnickelorchromiumplatingofthearticle,orthefatiguepropertiesofunplatedarticles.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
